Thanks to the city & SOFMC staff for getting the parking lot cleared up and for keeping the sidewalks clear of snow! The Thursday afternoon ladies league will be taking the day off today, and all other leagues are on schedule to return as usual. The Seniors Playdowns get underway today in New Westminster, good luck to teams Jay Tuson, John Coombs and Wes Craig. These teams representing the VCC will be playing off in a 23 team event looking for 4 spots to the next level of competition. Good luck Men! |

Also, not to be left out, a standing "O" goes out to Jay Tuson, Colin Mantik, Glen Jackson and Ken Tucker who have just captured the "B" Event qualifying spot. Both teams will now travel up to Parksville with VCC members Jody Epp, Blair Cusack, Jim York and Brad Kocurek for the Canadian Direct Insurance BC Men´s Championship Feb. 6-12. Good luck Men! |

Congratulations to our very own, the Hozack rink, Josh Hozack, Corey Chester, Zac Capron and Nolan Reid, the new BC Junior Men’s Champions. Off to Napanee they go in February 4-12, 2012 for the Nationals. | 2011-12-30: | After a full 10 ends of battle, VCC´s Team Hozack (Josh, Corey, Nolan and Zac) have captured 3rd place after 7 round robin and 2 tie-breaker games. The Hozack team will now face Team Niilson from Kelowna in the semi final game Saturday morning at 8:30am. Team McEachcran is waiting to meet the winner in the final at 1:30pm. On the Jr Women´s side, Team Burkitt defeated Team Brown in a tie-breaker, and now will face Team Prinse in the other semi final. Team Van Osch is waiting for the winner to play in their repective final game also at 1:30pm. |

It was "almost" a clean sweep for the VCC with the Dave Blower team winning "A" event, Rick Cohen team taking the "B" event, and the Chris O´Brien team capturing "D" event. Well done gents! | 2011-11-14: | Congratulations to Team Mackereth from Juan de Fuca CC on placing 1st place over the weekend at the Optimist Junior Cash Bonspiel. Winning the Consulation Event was Team Willie from Glen Meadows CC. A fantastic event was put on by Cindy Tucker and her crew of helpers over the 3 days of competition. Coming up next will be our very own annual VCC Junior Bonspiel Dec. 3-4. This event will host teams made up of experienced curlers playing along side of 2 novice players on each team. | 2011-11-10: | Coming up Nov. 11-13 the VCC is hosting a Jr. cash bonspiel sponsored by the Optimist Club. There will be 12 girls and boy´s juvenile and junior teams from the lower mainland and Island competing for cash prizes. Games get underway on Friday at 3pm and run through with finals slated for 1pm on Sunday. Also, we send good luck wishes to all the VCC teams that will be playing for cash at the V.I. Shoot-out Nov. 11-13. This event is playing host to 31 teams of junior, ladies and men´s teams and all games will be played at the JDF curling club. Congrats to Will Sutton and Chris Baier for making this event very successful in only it´s 2nd year running. |
| 2011-10-31: | Congratulations to our own Junior Men´s teams who have just returned from Kamloops with 1st and 2nd place hardware. Team Josh Hozack with Corey Chester, Nolan Reid and Zac Capron finished on top after a win against our other home club Team Daniel Wenzek with Cameron DeJong, Sanjay Bowry and Thomas Thierbach. This was the second win of the season for the Hozack team that also captured gold at Golden Ears earlier in the month.
Don´t forget that the VCC will be home for the Junior Women & Men´s Provincial Championship Dec. 27-31 this year. Regional playdowns for junior teams are set for Dec. 3-5 in Chilliwack. |
| 2011-10-19: | Here we go again! As announced on Tuesday, Victoria will once again be at the center of the world in 2013 with the Ford World Men´s Championship March 30-April 7, 2013. Victoria will play host to the best Men´s teams in the world for 9 days of curling action. Plus, the VCC will again be "entertainment central". We are all looking forward to once again show the world how to put on the best curling event ever. |
