2013-05-17:Congratulations to Corey Chester who has been named 2013 CURL BC Junior Male Athlete of the Year. Corey has worked very hard over his junior curling career, and he would like to thank all of the VCC members for their continued support and assistance over the years. Corey will continue to curl out of the VCC with his new men´s team (skip Chris Baier) and he looks forward to entering men´s competition next season.
 
2013-04-24:The Times Colonist Book Sale is looking for volunteers to help sort books. Please drop by the VCC and register to get started helping out this great event! Volunteers are needed daily 8am-4pm.
 
2013-03-26:Coming soon to the Victoria Curling Centre is "The Patch". Opening on Saturday Mar 30 at 11am the VCC will come alive with great food, tasty beverages and live entertainment. If you are a fan of any of these items, and a ticket holder for the day during the Ford World Men´s Curling Championship, you are in for non stop fun! Hope to see you all at some time during the week in the "Original 16 Patch".

Congratulations to all of the teams that came to the VCC to participate on both the 60th Ladies Daffodil and Men´s Thunderbird Bonspiels. The two events that were recently held on back to back weekends were no doubt one of the many highlights of the season for the VCC! Bonspiel Results are:

2013-02-20:Just around the corner is the 60th Annual VCC Ladies Daffodil Bonspiel Feb 28-Mar 3. Great curling, Saturday night banquet, fun games and entertainment will all take place during the weekend. The bonspiel is already full with a waiting list of teams being taken now. Be sure to drop by over the weekend to catch the ladies in action! Also, the Men´s Thunderbird Bonspiel will follow up Mar 7-10. Thanks to Admirals Walk Pet Clinic for acting as title sponsor once again, as well as the many other local organizations and curlers that make this annual spiel the best in BC. Team entries are still being accepted through the VCC office up until Mar 1st. So call us now and get your team entered! 
 
2013-01-10:Congratulations to Sanjay Bowry and Corey Chester, who along with Tyler Klymchuk and Rhys Gamache from Langley CC will be moving on to represent the VCC in Fort McMurray, Alberta at the M&M´s Canadian Junior Curling Championship. The team will be showing their BC colours Feb. 2-10 in the new style 14 team format. Great job boy´s!
 
2013-01-03:Good luck this week to all of the junior curlers taking part in the provincials in Coquitlam. Looking at the field of teams, the VCC is very well represented again this year.  Also on this weekend are the Men´s Open Playdowns in Maple Ridge. Teams wearing the VCC colours are skipped by Neil Dangerfield and Wes Craig. There will be 5 spots up for grabs from this event heading to the BC Men´s Championship in Parksville. Good luck teams!

The steps outlined within the Strategic Business Plan chart for the future of the Victoria Curling Center came about from many years of hard work and dedication from countless members and board members both past and present.  The Plan will always be available for review on the Executive web page, and direct access from here. Be sure to take the time to read this important document and get involved.
 
2012-12-10:

What a weekend for the VCC! You can pretty much call it a clean sweep for our teams that were in Island playdowns this past weekend.

Starting with the Island Men´s - Jason Montgomery (A-Event) and Jay Tuson´s (B-Event) teams from the VCC secured berths to the Provincial Men´s Championship.

On the Coastal Juniors Men´s side, teams Cameron deJong (A-Event), Paul Henderson (B-Event) and Duncan Silversides (C-Event) have made their mark and are now off to the provincials. Also qualifying are Corey Chester and Sanjay Bowery with team Klymchuk (A-Event).

On the Junior Ladies side of Junior Coastals, Carley Sandwith on Team Van Osch (A-Event), Merit Thorson on Team Prinse (B-Event) and Brook Capron on Team Silversides (C-Event) will also be crossing the water to Coquitlam Jan 2-6/13.

Congratulations to coaches Don McMullen - deJong, Todd Troyer - Klymchuk, Len Stewart - Silversides and Rachelle Perry - Henderson for taking the time and effort to make these teams what they are.

Well done all teams and coaches!

 
2012-12-06:Good Luck to all VCC teams that are taking part in their respective playdown events this coming weekend. The Island Men´s Championship is taking place in Port Alberni, and the Coastal Junior Ladies and Junior Men´s are being held in Comox. Both events will lead qualifiers directly to their respective provincial championships. Good luck teams!
 
2012-11-21:It´s Junior Bonspiel time right around the corner! This annual event will take place Dec. 1-2, and will consist of 16 teams of experienced and novice players. Deadline for registration is Nov. 29th. So "Hurry Hard" and get entered into this fun event! 
 
2012-11-17:Sat Nov. 17 at 9am the power is out for the time being. It is scheduled to be returned as of 10am. The Sat. AM league has been cancelled and the Sat. Sportsman League is on notice for the moment. Stay tuned...

2012-11-11:Congratulations to the Vancouver Island Shoot-Out 12 teams that have now qualified for the cash play on Monday. Game times are 9am, 12 noon and 3pm. Stop by to catch all the action. Thanks to all of the teams, event sponsors and fans for your support. It has been a great weekend of curling so far with one more day yet to come!
 
2012-11-09:Get ready for the V I Shoot-Out starting tonight at 6pm and running through Monday. The games go all weekend long with the finals being played on Monday at 3pm. Playing for the $28,000 in cash will be 16 Ladies and 16 Men´s team. Come on down and support the many local Victoria teams as well as teams from out of town! There will be no better curling in the city!
 
2012-10-31:On Nov.8th we will be hosting our friends from the U.S. Ladies Curling Tour for an afternoon slate of games and friendship. Four games will be played at 1:30 pm so drop by to catch the action. Also, Nov. 9-12 we will be the sight for this years VI Shoot-Out Cash Spiel. This year there will be 32 teams playing for over $28,000 in cash prizes. There are still spots available to enter a team. Contact c.baier@live.ca for details. First round games get underway on Friday Nov. 9 at 6:00 pm and 8:30 pm.

2012-09-25:Try Curling for free! That´s right, come curling in our house on Sunday Sept. 30 from 1pm-4pm and we will teach you how to play our great game. Drop in and join us for some fun times and get to know what we are all about. There will be refreshments, on ice activities and prizes to be won! Call the VCC office or just drop by for a visit. See you at the VCC!
 
2012-09-19:As the marque states "Too Hot Come Curling". Thank-you Mike for that one! We are back curling with most all leagues now having at least one game under our new lights. Welcome back to everyone returning, and welcome to our house for all new curlers playing with us for the first time! For those of you that are new to the VCC this year, please make yourself at home and be sure to ask questions that you may have to any of our 1050 VCC members to help you along. We are all here to make you feel comfortable in your new surroundings. For those of you that may have missed out on the Rib Eye Steak dinner last Friday night, you did miss a fantastic dinner. So be sure to stop by for our next Friday Night Dinner Special. Don´t forget that all curling fees are due into the office no later than Sept. 28th. See you on the ice!   
 
2012-09-05:The kitchen is open, the lights are on and the rings are being painted as we speak! Yes it is almost time again to get on the curling ice at the VCC. Coming up Sept 10-13 are our annual "Learn to Curl" clinics. Call the office to register now! Drop by for breakfast or lunch this week to check out our new coffee shop layout and new menu items! Hours are 8am-2pm until Friday. As of Monday Sept 10 we are open for business with usual curling season hours! To all returning and new curlers, please get your registrations to the office ASAP so that leagues can get schedules finalized for the start of the season.
 
2012-08-15:The office is now back open Monday-Friday for your curling related interests. For anyone wishing to register for league play, you can do so either on-line or through the VCC office directly. If you have any questions for us, please feel free to call or email us at anytime. "Learn to Curl" clinics will take place on Sept. 10-13 in the evenings. We are taking registrations for both Novice and Intermediate levels now through the office.  Ice install will begin around August 27. The August T-Line will be sent out soon so please get your submissions sent to us as soon as possible.

2012-07-22:New on-line registration is now in place. Just follow the "Registration" link on the left hand side of the website main page to send us your full team & individual information. Please remember that the VCC office will need both forms filled out for teams and their players. 
 
2012-06-21:Our AGM is right around the corner on Saturday July 7th at 11am. This meeting is to hold board member elections , review the financials from last year and to also review/discuss the results from our building assessment. Please plan on attending to hear what the plans are for the future of the VCC! Refreshments to be served following the meeting.
